It is of no doubt that our diet today has shifted from bad to worse compared to the last two decades. Surprisingly we know so much about dieting than our ancient forefathers who know nothing about calories and macronutrients but still lived hundreds of years with little or no health issues.

The secret is simple,PROPER DIET.They tend to use less processed foods and eat more natural herbs and spices.Moreso as at that time the use of fertilizer in order to grow bigger produce was never accepted by them so they consume less chemicalized farm produces.

There’s a lot of hype and misinformation over the word diet. This tiny little word brings up some big controversy. People are quite split on the concept of a diet. Either they are adamantly against any kind of calorie or food restriction or they are all for sticking to a very strict nutritional schedule. But what’s the big deal? Do we need to be on the latest diet trend? While it’s true that your food intake is an important topic, it’s almost certain that the concept of a diet is overblown or perhaps it’s just incredibly misunderstood. The word diet first appeared in English in the 13th century. Its original meaning was the same as in modern English, “habitually taken food and drink.” But diet was used in another sense too in the Middle and early modern English periods to mean “way of living.” This is, in fact, the original meaning of diet’s Greek ancestor diaita, which is derived from the verb diaitasthan, meaning “to lead one’s life.” In Greek, diaita, had already come to be used more specifically for a way of living prescribed by a physician, a diet, or other regimen.

Diet vary from one person to another as body systems are different,for example if I eat meat and vegetables always,that becomes my diet.A healthy diet consists of vegetables, fruits, lean meats, and whole grains. Your specific calorie needs and nutrient breakdown will be based on your particular body type and your goals. To find the perfect diet, always consult with a doctor to make sure all of your healthy bases are covered.

Over the years we have narrowed our thinking to take dieting serious only when we want to reduce or maintain our body shape,but no! To maintain a good and healthy body system our diet has to be put in check.

Here is a healthy food chart.

*Fruits and vegetables=40%

*Fibre Rich carbohydrates=25%

*Proteins=25%

*Fats=10%

So it is up to individual members of the public and independent-minded health professionals to find out what they can do about diet and heath.

Good nutritional habits and a balanced diet aren’t developed in one day, nor are they destroyed in one unbalanced meal. Healthful eating means a lifestyle of making choices and decisions, planning, and knowing how to make quick and wise choices when you haven’t planned.

In conclusion, a healthy diet and a proper nutrition prevent health problems, and supply the body with the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins, minerals and vitamins. Diet contain all kinds of food in required proportion is referred to balance diet. Therefore for someone to have a healthy living he should be mindful of his/her diet and ensure it is a balanced one.
